It was a feast of flag when flowers, fragrance and festivity homogenised to relinquish conformation to magical patterned patterns at the base edition of The Hindu-MetroPlus Pookkalam Contest 2009 held here on Sat.
As umpteen as 52 teams, comprising squad members apiece, participated in the rivalry, which yet again set new standards for creativity and skill in composition pookkalams. With an artistic feeling, the contestants rotated the carefully high flowers in foreign hues into vibrant pookkalams.
Organized houses, including companies from the Technopark; educational institutions; residents' associations; and willful organisations were among those who participated in the repugn, inaugurated by K.M. Purushottaman, Regional Brain and Deputy Broad Manager of U.s.a. Camber of India, Thiruvananthapuram.
